DevOps Certification and Training at DevOps World | Jenkins World 2018
DevOps World | Jenkins World Europe is just around corner from October 22 to 25 in Nice. For those of you who haven’t registered yet, read about what CloudBees University will offer for its two-day pre-conference training and certification event .
At the prior DevOps World | Jenkins World in San Francisco, CloudBees presented six new courses in 14 eight-hour hands-on sessions to over 500 students. Subject matter experts from organizations throughout CloudBees and by CloudBees Certified Training Partners presented the curriculum. Each session also included a number of Jenkins and CloudBees experts to assist with questions and hands-on lab exercises. Separate from the training, CloudBees University also offered free exam vouchers and a proctored exam room during the main event. Over 60 people passed the Certified Jenkins Engineer or the Certified CloudBees Jenkins Engineer exam.
The six new courses will be offered again at DevOps World | Jenkins World 2018 in Nice, France . Shortly after France, our training partners we will also begin offering these courses as in-person training and as live virtual instructor-led training:
Jenkins - Fundamentals
Jenkins Pipeline - Fundamentals
Jenkins Pipeline - Intermediate
Jenkins Administration – Fundamentals
CloudBees Core - Fundamentals
CloudBees Core on Modern Platforms - Intermediate
Modularized courses
This year’s event represents several significant changes for how CloudBees University present courses to its students. At past Jenkins World events, CloudBees University offered a full two-day comprehensive certification preparation courses.
This year, CloudBees is taking a step towards modularizing our training offerings. By modularizing courses into smaller and shorter training classes, CloudBees University is better able to mix and match content to meet individual needs and quickly respond to evolving demand. These more focused course modules allow us to create topic-specific certifications such as those aimed at “Advanced Pipeline” or “Jenkins Administration,” for example.
In addition to modularization, CloudBees University also began using prerequisite training leading up to the event. Prerequisites are offered as free online self-paced courses during the month leading up to the conference.
What’s coming in 2019
For DevOps World | Jenkins World 2019 , CloudBees University will continue to modularize our courses and employ greater use of prerequisites leading up to the event. We will also continue to offer both new and familiar courses.
Additionally, CloudBees University will engage students as early as six months prior to DevOps World | Jenkins World with a prerequisite curriculum path consisting of self-paced and live virtual instructor-led training courses. If successfully completed, students will be placed into an invitation-only advanced course at DevOps World | Jenkins World 2019. This enables CloudBees University to form groups of students who bring the same level of knowledge before the event so that instructors can jump right into advanced topics, use cases and problem solving exercises without requiring preliminary introduction, leveling and lab access delays. Look for messaging and early invitations in the second quarter of 2019.
