Feature Flags have emerged as one of the fastest growing technologies within the DevOps space, yet they remain misunderstood by many organizations when attempting to implement them at enterprise scale. Adding feature flags to enable progressive delivery can undoubtedly improve release velocity and end user satisfaction, but they do come with a variety of considerations and changes when using them in line with other established CI/CD processes and technologies.
Watch as Eyal Keren, director of engineering and former co-founder, Rollout.io, Grigory Avsyuk, solution architect and Elliott Landon, product manager, from CloudBees discuss the impact that feature flags have on CI/CD, along with the process, technical and cultural considerations for adding feature flags to CI/CD pipelines. There will be extra time at the end for live Q&A between the panel and audience.
Eyal Keren is the director of engineering and former co-founder and CTO of Rollout.io, where his focus is software craftsmanship, continuous design and TDD. Prior to Rollout, Eyal co-founded DoAlbums as its CTO, and spent 8 years as a software engineer at Intel. He earned a degree with honors in computer software engineering from the Israel Institute of Technology, but his love of code really began back in early childhood, when he discovered a BASIC book in an IBM XT box and began copying the English letters.
Elliott is the product manager who oversees CloudBees’ enterprise feature management solution. Prior to his role in product, he worked as a Solution Architect, working closely with the platform’s co-founder Erez Rusovsky. Aside from his passions around DevOps and the Boston tech scene, he’s an avid Chicago sports fan (except for the Cubs), and enjoys spending time with his sisters, all of whom also live in Boston.
Working out of New York City, Greg is Solutions Architect working with enterprise customers striving to move rapidly. Greg started out as a software engineer but moved towards a Solution Architecture role because he enjoys being more directly involved with solving customer issues around their software development life cycles. He offers unique insight to the role of feature flags in CI/CD as both a former user of feature flags and now an advisor to enterprise companies on optimizing their CI/CD processes and technology.
One of my favorite areas of focus is Transformation, whether it is Agile, Business, or Digital. Each of these overlap on the venn diagram of Transformation and each touch all aspects of businesses today.
At CloudBees I work as a Technology Strategy Director in Product Marketing, growing the Market and Competitive Intelligence practice, finding modern ways to represent Business Value and using data to bring market and competitive insights.
