Laura Frank of CloudBees to Highlight Container Orchestration at DockerCon 2018 in San Francisco

JUNE 5, 2018 – SAN JOSE, CA.CloudBees , the hub of enterprise DevOps, announced today that Laura Frank, director of engineering at CloudBees, will speak at DockerCon on June 13. DockerCon, held at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, is the number one container industry conference for software delivery teams delivering next-generation distributed apps built with containers. Laura’s presentation, “Container Orchestration from Theory to Practice,” will provide thorough insight into the latest innovation for DevOps teams and complement recent container offerings from CloudBees.

Laura’s session will explain and examine technical concepts behind container orchestration systems, like distributed consensus, object models and node topology. Since these concepts provide the foundation for every modern orchestration system, she will illustrate the technical explanations by using SwarmKit and Kubernetes as real-world examples. Attendees will gain a deeper understanding of how orchestration systems work in practice and walk away with more insights into their role in production applications. Laura will be joined by co-presenter Stephen Day, whose many contributions to the Docker ecosystem projects include SwarmKit and the version 2 specification for the Docker Registry HTTP API, as well as evolving the available models for container image distribution. Stephen currently works on containerd and is a technical oversight board member for the Open Container Initiative (OCI).
