Cultivating Diversity and Inclusion in the Open Source Community

Session Description

The term “Open” in Open Source should be fundamentally about access, empowerment and participation of all people. In the past decade, the representation of women in open source has inched up merely 1.5% to a shockingly low 3%. This result is proof that open source communities need to make more intentional efforts to ensure a more diverse and inclusive community. In this talk, I'll be discussing ways open source communities can actively and intentionally encourage diversity and inclusion within their communities.
