SDM Product Hub Provides Full Visibility to Efficiently Deliver Features On-Time

The following blog post is the second in a series focused on CloudBees Software Delivery Management (SDM) by Michael Baldani, senior product marketing manager at CloudBees. The series explores specific capabilities and functionalities inside the platform that address top software delivery challenges at enterprises today.

As I noted in my last blog post , organizations across the globe have adopted agile and DevOps to deliver features to customers faster. With one or two teams developing and delivering features, it may not be so difficult to track how those efforts are progressing and if there is any risk to releasing the feature(s). But what if you have 10 or 50 product teams developing various features for an application? How do you keep track of all of it? How do you prioritize and manage that feature work and, more importantly, how do you know if a release timeline is at risk?

The feature management capability in Product Hub provides a comprehensive view of all feature development for a specific product, which can include anything from value-producing features, enhancements or bug fixes. You’ll see all related components across teams, as well as current status, planned progress and artifacts, to quickly identify what is or is not progressing. Paired with the policy engine (more on this later), you can assess risk of feature delivery by better planning priorities and resources that reduce blockages to keep work moving towards delivery.

  • Clicking into a specific feature card to get an overview of dependent components that need to be delivered in order to make this feature a reality. You’ll understand the total number of issues, which tasks are done, in progress and planned, as well as any blockers that could delay release.

  • The contribution tab gives you detailed information on the types of issues being worked on, the status and the team members assigned to work on them. You’ll also quickly see where any policy violations are blocking progress and need to be addressed.

Click into any issue to get more information on the ticket being worked on as part of the epic. You’ll be able to view comments between team members as well as any pull requests associated with this ticket.

Feature management truly gives you a single source of truth for all development efforts across teams to help you efficiently deliver those features on time to your customers and users.
