The following blog post is the latest edition of Meet the Bees, a series in which we get to know the employees at CloudBees (affectionately known internally as “Bees”). In today’s post, the spotlight is on Rashid Ross, Marketing Graphics/Visual Designer!

Rashid Ross

An innovative graphic designer with proven expertise in designing distinguished and memorable images for print, internet and digital media, Rashid specializes in photo manipulation, logo development and music production.

We had a small fireside chat with Rashid to know more about his experiences at CloudBees, likes, dislikes and life in general. Dive into the highlights of our interesting conversation with Rashid.

Who are you? What is your role at CloudBees?

My name is Rashid Ross and I am a marketing graphics/visual designer at CloudBees. I am responsible for creating concepts, artwork and layouts for digital and print projects based on creative briefs and project meetings. My job includes ensuring we maintain the established brand look and feel for various company-wide content and create layouts that reinforce the company brand/voice through its visual touchpoints.

What does a typical day look like for you?

I tend to go into the day focusing on one or two priority projects to work on or complete, with the understanding that everything could shift with one email or a Slack thread. I closely collaborate with internal teams to visualize complex content and usually juggle multiple projects while effectively managing timelines and expectations.

What is your best experience, so far, in working at CloudBees? What has been the best thing you have worked on since joining CloudBees?

My best experiences revolve around witnessing the DevOps World conferences come to life after months of planning and meetings. To be present on-site and see the banners, booths and the entire building come to life with the art you’ve been creating on a stretch is almost surreal.

Do you have any advice for someone starting a career in software delivery?

Be comfortable and fluid in how your work integrates with the process. Technology changes, so always be ready to pivot with the process while maintaining your ability to do your role.

If you could eat only one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?

I’ll go with pizza (cheese, peppers, mushrooms, whatever)!

What's your favorite sport?

(American) Soccer (ahem! Futbol for the purists).

What is your favorite social media platform and why?

Being somewhat a selective introvert, I prefer Facebook as it allows me to engage when I want to and take in the information I want at my discretion. Also, dabbling in Instagram as it allows a simpler visual escape.

What is your favorite TV show character? Why is this character your favorite?

TV? By the time I sit in front of a TV, it's usually watching me. Though, I do like live music and concert type programming when available.

If you weren’t working in your field, what would you be doing?

I would have been creating music for movies or bass angling.

It’s always a delight to chat with an artist and catching up with Rashid Ross was a pleasant experience! Watch this space to meet more Bees in our upcoming blog posts.
