These awards recognize " individual contributors who have demonstrated exceptional leadership, creativity, and collaboration in the development of open source software " - and this certainly describes Kohsuke'stalent very well.
I am even prouder that Kohsukereceived this price despite the recent Jenkins/Hudson debacle: this demonstrates that community recognition doesn't just magically happen by forking code, this is something that you build over time, by engaging with your community, respecting it and building trust over time. This is exactly what Kohsukehas done over the last seven years with the Jenkins community.
