I am happy to announce the release of a by CloudBees version 13.05 (May 2013). The release introduces four new plugins that help in the management of medium to large Jenkins installations. This release builds on top of Jenkins LTS 1.509.1.

The newly released plugins are:

  1. CloudBees Support plugin One of the key features of Jenkins Enterprise by CloudBees is support for OSS Jenkins and all OSS plugins. Typically when opening a support ticket, some amount of back-and-forth is required to get more information about the environment. This plugin generates a bundle with all the relevant information that can then be attached to the ticket, resulting in faster resolution for issues.

  2. Restart Aborted Builds plugin When a Jenkins controller crashes, running builds cannot be resumed where they left off as recreating the context of the build is generally too complex. This plugin maintains a list of all running builds when the crash occurred and presents the list to the administrator. Using the information captured, the administrator can easily restart the builds.

  3. Nodes Plus plugin In large environments, Jenkins agents are usually owned by different teams or individuals and when a agent goes down, administrators have to find the appropriate person in order to restart the machine. This plugin lets administrators specify an email address for the owner of a given machine. The owner is then notified when the machine goes offline.

  4. Consolidated Build View plugin It is common practice to create a number of jobs to implement one overall project or pipeline. This is accomplished by defining an upstream job and a number of downstream jobs. In such a setting, it is problematic to visualize the results of all the builds. This plugin lets you quickly see which builds were run and why the build was run. You can also immediately jump to the console log for each.

These plugins add to the existing suite of plugins focused on managing large installations. Please go ahead and give them a spin!
