Using VR Technology to Create a Social Impact for Neurodiverse Individuals

Session Description

Neurodiverse individuals experience deficits in social-emotional learning skills (SELs). SEL Deficits create complications for individuals. To learn SELs, individuals consult therapists, but this solution isn’t always accessible. Traditional therapy is expensive and costs $47,000+ a year. Older patients also experience additional difficulties because treatments cater to children. As a solution, I developed a VR aid to teach SELs. The aid provides a realistic interface and practical environments allowing users to easily apply the skills learned through the application into their daily life.
