Training & Certification FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions related to CloudBees self-paced and instructor-led training as well as CloudBees Certification.

  • Managing Certifications (cancellations, date changes, etc)

You can self-manage your certification exams, including registrations, date changes, cancellations, etc. by logging in to the Exam Portal through the appropriate course in CloudBees University (Use the “Access the Exam Portal” button in the Schedule/Log in to Exam lesson).

Please note that cancellations and rescheduling must be completed at least 72 hours from your scheduled exam time or you will have to repurchase your exam.

Of course, if you have special circumstances that caused you to have to make a change on short notice, you can request special consideration by reaching out to testingsupport@meazurelearning.com or certifications@cloudbees.com.

  • I have a Promo Code or Voucher for an exam, where or how do I apply it?

While registering for the exam, you will follow the check-out process. Upon beginning check out, you will be able to enter a Coupon/Voucher code for the exam.

  • I get an error saying there was a problem with my registration when I try to access the exam portal to schedule my exam. What do I do?

We are sorry to hear that. Please contact certifications@cloudbees.com

  • When should I receive my certificate after passing my exam?

Within 10 business days you will receive an email containing a link to your certificate and digital badge.
    Your certificate will include:

    • A unique URL to be shared on social networks

    • Automated insertion in your Linkedin profile

    • A downloadable PDF certificate

  • I did not pass my exam! Can you share why I didn’t pass?

We are sorry to hear you did not pass. Unfortunately, we cannot disclose detailed questions and responses, as this could weaken the integrity of the exam. Please reference your fail report, which will tell you which subjects you did not do well on, and compare it to the blueprint/study guide to tell you what areas to focus your studies on to prepare for a retest.

If technical issues were encountered that were not resolved during the exam, please reach out to the exam delivery platform attestingsupport@meazurelearning.com. If you do not receive a satisfactory response, contact certifications@cloudbees.com

  • I only see online testing offered - can I take my exam at a test center?

Unfortunately no. As of June, 2022, we have shifted entirely to online exams. You no longer have any need to go to a testing center to take advantage of our certification offerings and can test in the comfort of your own home or office.

  • I see new certifications available, but I already scheduled one of the older ones. Can I change which one I want to test for?

Yes! For instance, perhaps you are scheduled to take the CloudBees CI Essentials exam. exam, but you want to switch to the CloudBees CD/RO Essentials exam. No problem!

As long as you are more than 72 hours from your scheduled exam, simply login to the exam portal through the exam course in CloudBees University (Use the “Access the Exam Portal” button in the Schedule/Log in to Exam lesson) and withdraw from the exam you no longer want.

Then email certifications@CloudBees.comfor help in transferring your purchase to a different exam.

  • How to register and prepare for Jenkins Certification exams

Take the Prepare for the Certified Jenkins Engineer (CJE) Exam course at CloudBees University. This course will tell you everything you need to know about how to prepare for and take the exam. The URL for the course is https://university.cloudbees.com/prepare-for-the-certified-jenkins-engineer-cje-certification

If you feel you need some training and would like to take a few online courses to help you prepare, we recommend the Certified Jenkins Engineer (CJE) Exam Preparation learning path found on the CloudBees University Community page:

    https://university.cloudbees.com/page/community

  • If I used a Promo Code or Voucher for my exam, can I use the same voucher if I cancel the exam and re-schedule?

To reschedule the exam, there is no need to use a code as long as you haven’t actually started or missed your exam. Simply reschedule as detailed above.

If you cancel and want to schedule a different exam, you will need a new code. Contact whoever gave you the code initially for a new one.

  • How do I launch my exam?

After registration according to the process outlined in the appropriate CloudBees University course, you should receive an email with detailed instructions and links. Please read that email completely, as the instructions are important to preventing any exam-day issues.

If you did not receive an email from testingsupport@getyardstick.com, check your spam/junk mail folders. If you still don’t have it, please email certifications@cloudbees.com regarding your confirmation email.

To launch the course on exam day, simply login to the Exam Portal through the appropriate course in CloudBees University.

  • I scheduled an exam but didn’t get any emails or other confirmation notice. Should I have?

If you did not receive an email from testingsupport@getyardstick.com, check your spam/junk mail folders. If you still don’t have it, please email certifications@cloudbees.com regarding your confirmation email.

  • How do I verify a Certificate from the CloudBees Certified Jenkins Engineer (CCJE) or Certified Jenkins Engineer (CJE) exams?

You can verify certificate numbers or URL’s here on Accredible’s website.

  • The link to my certificate goes to 404 page. How do I get my certificate?

If your link looks like https://certificates.cloudbees.com/abcdefgh/sso?code=4722, the problem is most likely the /sso?code=4722 part of the path, please try removing it. You can also get your certificate ID from the URL (the abcdefgh part) and use it on the site mentioned in the previous question.

  • I have a laptop and I received an email saying I need an external webcam. Do I need an external webcam to take the proctored exam?

We accept any camera for our proctored exam, so your built-in laptop camera should work for the exam.

  • I did not receive an invoice or receipt for my purchase. How do I get one?

You should have received an invoice by email. Please check spam and junk mail filters.

If you did not get one, please contact training@cloudbees.com.

  • I am receiving errors while trying to take my exam on a mobile device?

For security reasons, our exams are not compatible with mobile devices. A desktop or laptop computer is required.

  • Help, my self-paced Virtual Box/Vagrant environment is not working!

Most troubleshooting tips can be found within your class’s lab troubleshooting guide. Check for the section of your course called “Install Lab Environment”

    and then browse to “Troubleshooting”

While CloudBees produces self-paced lab environments that can be hosted locally for students, CloudBees supports these for non-CloudBees customers as “Best effort” support, meaning we will provide initial triage and support to replicate problems encountered. However if the issue is environmental or not widespread, CloudBees may not be able to immediately resolve. Most labs can be followed along with hosting your own local environment as well by downloading Jenkins from Jenkins.io.

  • When following the “Install Lab Environment” instructions for a training course, nothing happens when you run the command vagrant up. The command line exits without any output or error, or just hangs.

    For Windows users:

  • How do I change or update my name on my CloudBees University account?

It is important to note that your CloudBees University account name must match your government-issued ID for certification exams. It also affects how your name is displayed on your certificate.

To update or change your name, follow these steps:

    1. Go to http://app.cloudbees.com/ and log in using the same login that you used for CloudBees University. If you do not have an organization associated with your account, you will be prompted to Create an Organization for yourself. You may use your employer as an organization or anything else you deem appropriate. You must have an organization, but it is not critical for the exam, so you can even use your own name. This will take you to the CloudBees Management Console where you can manage information about your organization or personal account.

    2. Choose the Update your Profile option, update your name(s) and save the changes.

    3. Return to CloudBees University and log out of your account.

    4. Log back in to CloudBees University and check your profile again. Your name(s) should be updated.
