CloudBees Introduces Beta of DEV@cloud Private Edition

Enables Agile Development Organizations to Manage Jenkins Resources On-Premise

VMWORLD, LAS VEGAS -- August 30, 2011 -- CloudBees, Inc., the Java Platform as a Service (PaaS) innovation leader, today announced the private beta of DEV@cloud Private Edition, which extends the company's cloud service to help organizations take advantage of the benefits of cloud computing in a private environment, allowing them to better manage and more efficiently leverage their existing Jenkins infrastructure.

Today, companies wrestle with the cost of ongoing maintenance for IT infrastructure as well as allocating resources across the enterprise efficiently and appropriately. Cloud computing offers answers to these issues, but many organizations aren't yet ready to move to the cloud.

With DEV@cloud Private Edition, organizations can more efficiently manage their Jenkins installations, centrally. This allows them to fully utilize resources, for example, by being able to share and quickly deploy infrastructure resources as needed throughout the organization. Additionally, common security policies and update center policies can be centrally applied to all Jenkins servers.

DEV@cloud Private Edition Key Features:

  • Offers all the functionality of DEV@cloud, in a privately run and managed on-premise environment

  • Provides automatic provisioning of masters and build agents

  • Ensures plugin compliance based on plugins or plugin version. Centrally manage across
    all masters

  • Pushes Role-based Access Control (RBAC) permissions from DEV@cloud Private Edition to all masters. Easily manage security permissions

  • Centralizes management of all CI masters and build agents. Ability to onboard existing Jenkins masters into DEV@cloud Private Edition

CloudBees offers the only develop-to-deploy public cloud platform for Java and serves thousands of customers. It provides everything developers need to quickly and easily develop and deploy applications in the public cloud -- without having to purchase, configure and maintain hardware, and without having to program applications for a specific underlying infrastructure service (IaaS). Now, with DEV@cloud Private Edition, CloudBees brings its compelling solution to the private cloud environment.

"CloudBees continues to broaden the choices for customers and execute rapidly on its vision to provide the easiest to use, most flexible and cost-effective PaaS on the market, covering the complete development-to-production lifecycle for Java applications," said Sacha Labourey, CEO and founder, CloudBees. "With DEV@cloud Private Edition, organizations can leverage their existing on-premise infrastructure, while taking full advantage of the benefits of cloud computing for their Continuous Integration needs. We are the only vendor providing Continuous Integration as a service, on-premise, with no need for IT or DevOps involvement."
