The first phase of the Cloud Computing trend was predominately about the IaaS layer - Infrastructure as a Service, from providers like Amazon. As adoption matures the key next step will be PaaS - Platform as a Service, and the new 'DevOps' software development model this makes possible. With a variety of options like Microsoft Azure, Force.com and many other PaaS options, this market will offer huge productivity improvement features for IT organizations.
